UK employees: Access to Work

Access to Work can pay for XRAI glasses and subscriptions for UK employees with a disability or hearing loss.

Updated 7 October 2026

Access to Work is a UK government programme, run by the Department for Work and Pensions, that helps disabled people start or stay in work. It can pay for equipment and services that remove communication barriers at work, including XRAI.

What it can pay for

  • XRAI AR2 captioning glasses
  • An XRAI subscription
  • Assistive listening equipment, such as Bluetooth microphones

Who can apply

UK employees with a disability, including hearing loss, at any stage of their career: starting a job, changing role or employer, or finding their disability harder to manage at work.

How to apply

  1. Apply on the Access to Work website or by phone. It takes about 10 minutes.
  2. Describe your disability, how it affects your work, and your employer's contact details.
  3. An Access to Work assessor reviews your application, sometimes with a visit to your workplace.
  4. Once approved, your employer orders the recommended products.
  5. Access to Work refunds your employer after the purchase is invoiced.

We work with Access to Work regularly and can help you or your employer through the process: email hello@xrai.glass.
