Cast a screen to XRAI TV

Show a Windows laptop or another Miracast device on the TV through XRAI TV, with captions.

Updated 17 October 2026

XRAI TV can receive a screen cast over Miracast, and caption it like any other picture.

Cast from a Windows laptop

  1. On the TV, press Menu and choose Video source → Cast, or press the green button until Cast is chosen. The TV shows Cast to this device – XRAI TV and the box's ID.
  2. On the laptop, press Windows key + K and choose XRAI TV with that ID.

The box accepts the cast by itself; there is nothing to confirm on the TV. Other devices that support Miracast cast to it the same way. iPhones, iPads and Macs don't support Miracast.

Before you cast

  • Wi-Fi must be on on the box, even when it is connected by Ethernet. Casting uses Wi-Fi Direct, a direct link between the two devices, so the box doesn't need to join a Wi-Fi network.
  • Protected video doesn't cast. The box doesn't support HDCP, so Netflix and similar apps won't show their videos.

If the cast won't connect or the picture freezes, see XRAI TV problems and fixes.
