The remote works by infrared, so point it at the XRAI TV box, not the TV. If the box is hidden behind the TV, it needs a clear line of sight or an infrared extender.

| Yellow or CC | Caption bar on or off. |
| Blue | Next caption delay, to keep captions in step with the picture. |
| Search | Speaker identification on or off. |
| Play/Pause | Start captions. While they run, pause or resume them. |
| Stop | Stop captions. |
| Fast-forward and Rewind | Caption background colour. |
| Next and Previous track | Caption text colour. |
| Mute | The programme's sound through to the TV on or off. |
| Info | Show or hide the status pill. |
| Page up and Page down | Captions at the top or the bottom of the screen. |
With Live Pause on
When Live Pause is on, the playback buttons work on the picture instead: Play/Pause pauses and resumes it, Fast-forward and Rewind skip, and Next and Previous track jump to live or to the start.
If the magnifier opens Settings, or the minus button does nothing, email support@xrai.glass with the box's ID from the top of Settings.
