AR2 problems and fixes

Quick fixes for common XRAI AR2 problems: charging, connecting, dark captions, the touchpad and the microphone.

Updated 7 October 2026

The glasses won't turn on

Hold the power button for 3 seconds. If nothing happens, charge them in the case for at least 30 minutes and try again.

The glasses aren't charging in the case

Line the magnets up and close the lid fully. Check the case has charge: a red light means plug it in. If they still don't charge, hold the power button for 10 seconds to restart the glasses and put them back. See Charge the glasses and the case.

The glasses won't charge while the case is plugged in

The case and the glasses can't charge at the same time. Charge the case, unplug it, then charge the glasses in it.

The app can't find the glasses

Check Bluetooth is on and the glasses are switched on. On iPhone, open Settings → XRAI Glass and check Bluetooth is allowed. Then tap the Bluetooth icon in the app to search again.

The glasses keep disconnecting

Charge the glasses fully. Close the XRAI app completely and open it again. On Android, check the app is allowed to run in the background. If it carries on, reset and re-pair the glasses.

The captions are too dark

Raise the brightness in the app: settings icon → AR2 → Brightness. See Caption size, brightness and position.

The touchpad doesn't respond

Wipe it with a dry cloth. If it still doesn't respond, hold the power button for 10 seconds to restart the glasses.

Which microphone is the app using?

While the glasses are connected the app listens through their microphones. To change it, open the settings icon → Audio and choose the microphone. See Choose the microphone.
