Samsung phones: turn off DeX

If your glasses show a desktop or an error on a Samsung phone, turn off Samsung DeX.

When you plug glasses into a Samsung phone, Samsung DeX can take over the display and show a desktop instead of captions. Turn it off before you set up your glasses.

  1. Open Settings → Connected devices → Samsung DeX.
  2. Turn off Auto start when HDMI is connected. On some models the setting is under screen mirroring instead.
  3. Pull down the quick settings panel from the top of the screen, swipe to its second page and make sure DeX is off (grey, not blue).
  4. Restart the phone. You only need to do this once.
  5. Plug in the glasses again.
