AR subtitles and screen mirroring

The two ways XRAI shows captions in glasses: AR subtitles fixed in your view, or a mirrored copy of your phone screen.

Updated 7 October 2026

AR subtitles

With supported glasses, AR subtitles places captions in your view, in front of the person speaking, while your phone stays in your pocket or bag. Use it with XREAL glasses through the XREAL version of the app, the XREAL Beam Pro, QONOQ MiRZA and RayNeo X2. XRAI AR2 glasses always show captions this way.

Tap the settings icon on the conversation screen to change the caption size, how far away they appear, and where they sit in your view. On XRAI AR2 these are on the AR2 tab; see Caption size, brightness and position.

If captions shake or drift as you move your head, see Captions shake or drift in the glasses.

Screen mirroring

Glasses and displays that show a copy of your phone's screen work too. Set the app up so only the captions show:

  1. Tap the settings icon. On the General tab, turn on Minimal interface. This hides the buttons and makes the background black, which looks clear in glasses.
  2. On the Text tab, set Screen subtitle position to the bottom, and adjust the height under the spacing settings.
  3. Turn the phone to landscape and tap the padlock that appears to keep it there.
  4. Tap + to start.
